Rylee is wonderful! She loves people, loves children and is very gentle. She gets excited and likes to attempt to jump on new folks she meets. We have been working on that with her. She is always happy and excited and loves to play fetch!
Rylee is the best sleeper once we put her in her bed for the night. She is very quiet, does not
fuss or get up in the middle of the night. Rylee is very good being left alone at home. We close off rooms, and clear the kitchen counter. She does not get on the furniture with the exception of the one chair where we told her she could lay down. She does like to counter surf. She has been caught a couple of times trying to sneak food off the kitchen counter. This is few and far between and she is improving.
Rylee is EXCEPTIONAL in the car. Of the 4 dogs we have fostered, she is far and away the best
traveler. We have taken her to Boulder in the car and she stays in the back, does not try to jump into the seats, does not make noise, she just stays in back. If we have to leave her in the car temporarily, she does not bark, she does not cry, she just lays there quietly. She is amazing in the car.

Other Dogs ▼
Rylee has lived with other dogs and done well. She can initially be a little standoff and complete for attention from humans with other dogs. She has met our granddog (River) and after some initial grumbling, they do ok together. They have continued to spend time together and even though River is a little bit afraid of her, Rylee likes to try to initiate play with him, but he’s not really in to it. Rylee would likely do best as an only dog, or buddy for another male dog who lets her be the Queen!
Cats ▼
Rylee has never lived with cats.
Children ▼
Rylee has lived in a home with kids and done well. She is super friendly with the grandkids that visit our home.
Leash ▼
Rylee seems as if she wasn’t walked a lot prior to coming to us. She is a bit erratic; she likes to zig- zag back and forth and pulls a bit. I would say about 70% of the time she is walking good now. We walk her at least once a day, sometimes 2X per day and anywhere from 1 to 3 miles per walk. She does like to bark at other dogs, even if they are completely across the street or 50-100 feet from her. She can seem a little intimidating, but once she is put together with another dog, she is friendly. Most folks see her demeanor upon approach and will shy away because she likes to bark.
Where I'm from ▼
Rylee is an owner surrender from Alabama. Her family is no longer able to care for her and reached out to our rescue partner to help rehome her. Arriving 5/22.
