PC is a total sweetheart! He is not a cuddle bug/lap dog like some labs are, but does want to be where we are so that may change as he continues to decompress and adjust to his new surroundings.
He did not appear to know any commands except “lay down” when he first arrived. He is highly food motivated (we use his kibble for treats) and has already learned “sit” and will “stay” in place for a short while so far.
He sleeps on a dog bed near our bed through the night. He is a good napper during the day.
He likes to chew and we are keeping a close eye on stuffed/squeaker toys to be sure he doesn’t want to shred them. So far bones, Kong, and rope toys are favorites.
He travels well. Mostly just lays down in the car. Occasionally pops his head up to see what’s going on, but settles right back down.
He loves to walk and explore so if you’re looking for a lab more on the smaller side to be your hiking buddy or additional member of your active family, PC is for you!

Other Dogs ▼
He has done very well meeting other dogs while out walking. He does not seem bothered or stressed. He does not rush up, but waits for the ok with tail wagging. He is very curious. He loves playing with his foster brother! The first couple of days he did not engage much, however now they like to play tug and share toys.
Cats ▼
Unknown. No cats in the home. Wants to chase rabbits and squirrels on walks.
Children ▼
Unknown. No children in the home. He is very sweet though and has been very curious and calm meeting people on walks.
Leash ▼
He does very well! Mostly loose leash. He stays in front without too much back and forth. He is very curious and loves exploring all of the new sights and smells since coming to Colorado. He is not bothered at all by bicycles that share the trail.
Where I'm from ▼
PCs owner passed away. He was at the shelter for about 3 weeks before coming to CO. He has some skin allergies that we are working with the vet to treat. He is on a special food now to help. He is also underweight, so hopefully this good nutrition and less stressful environment will help him gain weight and help his skin to heal.
