Finn is a very chill dog. Around the house, he likes to stretch out on the cool hardwood floors or curl up in his bed. He loves to be petted, scratched and loves belly rubs. We haven’t heard him bark yet! He sleeps all through the night and a good part of the day. He doesn’t beg for food, has not exhibited any counter surfing behavior or sensitivity to loud noises or commotion.

Finn has black hair that can sometimes look brownish in the right light and has big adorable ears. He is very friendly with people and would thrive in a home with a single person or a couple. He might also do well with older children. He is looking for a family who will give him a good structure and routine. Finn loves to take a long morning walk and another in the evening where he can practice his leash skills and commands. The rest of the day he is happy to take long naps in his bed, on the cool tile floors, or on the grass in the backyard. He will sit outside with you for hours just watching the world go by. Finn loves to be scratched and petted. He will rest his head on your lap until he decides he’s had enough head scratches. He will lean on you when he needs pets. But his favorite thing is to roll over onto his back and get belly rubs. He sleeps through the night without getting up on his bed. He seems to know about sleeping in the human bed but his current fosters don’t allow it and he doesn’t seem to mind finding other places to sleep. Finn is crate trained and goes in nicely but he would probably be fine being free in the house while you are away as well. Finn loves car rides and loads and unloads himself on command.

Finn comes with some behaviors that still need to be corrected but he is working on them so he can find his next home! He initially was inclined to jump up on new people he met but that has largely been corrected with a firm “off” command. He was caught counter surfing once was told no, and it has not been an issue since, but best to keep tempting food off the counters if you are not watching him. On his walks, he may be intrigued by rabbits and squirrels but once he knows his route and expects to see them, he doesn’t seemed to be bothered by them anymore. A simple “watch me” and a treat will get his attention and he loses interest in them. He can be reactive towards other dogs especially when he is on a leash or if other dogs charge or bark at him from inside a fenced yard. His adopters should either have some experience with working with a reactive dog or be willing to work with a RMLR trainer. Finn has already come a long way and just needs someone that is able to work with him consistently.
