Chip is a lab through and through. This 3 year old boy has a lot of energy and loves to destroy toys. He has not destroyed anything in the house except for toys. Once he gets in a good walk, his demeanor completely shifts and he calms down for a snooze or calmer play. He would make a fantastic running buddy. He seems to know the commands “sit” and “here,” but I have not yet taken him off leash to try his off leash skills with the “here” command. He loves to cuddle and will follow you around like a shadow. Chip knows “sit” and “here.” “Here” has only been tested in the house and yard, not off leash. We are working on learning “down” to lay down and he’s catching on quickly! He is very food motivated and eager to learn. Add fetch to Chip’s list of favorite things along with toys, walks, and snuggling. He is a speedy boy and loves chasing balls and sticks.

More info about Chip

Other Dogs ▼

So far he has been uninterested in playing or engaging with my dog. He is not mean or aggressive toward her and walks well with her.

Cats ▼

No cat in foster home

Children ▼

No children in foster home, but lived with children before

Leash ▼

Good on a leash. We are working on leash skills so he does not walk in front of me, but generally does very well.

Where I'm from ▼

Chip lived in a home with kids and a home without. He has been kennel trained and spent many hours alone in a kennel- he would do best with someone who is not leaving him for 8+ hours in a kennel.

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who love dogs and work to find homes for Labs and Lab Mixes in need.
