Billy is a very mellow old fellow who is good natured, and calm. He is curious, gentle and affectionate.
Billy settled in very quickly, always ready for a walk, or just relax. He does not fetch and moves a bit slower due to his age, but he does get up and down the stairs ok. He’s just a little shaky and occasionally slips and stumbles on hard floors.
Billy has found his voice! He barks when excited, to announce the arrival of strangers, but not excessively.

Billy was tested at the shelter with cats and didn't seem very interested.

Billy is very gentle and laid back. He would likely do great with kids that understand that he has some aches and pains, and can be respectful.

Where I'm from ▼
Billy was found as a stray in Loveland, Colorado. No one came for him. Our friends at NOCO Humane provided him vet care to treat an ear infection, gave him a dental cleaning and extracted problem teeth and removed two masses. One of was a mast cell tumor and the other a soft tissue sarcoma. Because the sarcoma has a higher likelihood of recurrence, he is not an adoption candidate so they reached out to rescues to help. RMLR would love to get Billy into a comfortable adoptive home. Ask us about Fospice if you'd love to adopt Billy but are worried about the cost of his long-term medical treatment.
