Haley is joy and reminds us all to literally stop and smell the flowers! I think her name could easily be Dory (Find Nemo) because she doesn’t have a the greatest short term memory. This is also what adds to her personality because she just keeps “swimming” or in the doggie world – just keeps trotting along! She is very confident in the house and is always watching, looking and learning! I have a feeling she has not been exposed to a lot in her short life so the outside BIG world of Colorado is a little scary at times, but also VERY exciting!!! She is always raring to go and loves to be outside! She does seem to have a high prey drive as she loves to “try” to catch a rabbit and tries to run with anything that moves quickly! Haley is super smart as she has learned sit quickly and we are working on down and other basic commands too! Haley is young and is learning what is really a toy! She also LOVES to check out the counters and see what she should help clean up! I also don’t think she totally knows her name so we are working on this as well! Overall, if you are looking for a young, boisterous, smart and very active dog – she is just your gal!

Other Dogs ▼
Haley LOVES everyone!!! She is VERY curious about everything and at times misses some cues other dogs are giving her, but she is learning as well! She loves to be around her foster siblings and all her friends she has met. She loves to play with everyone but also is fine doing her own thing! When she gets scared or is unsure of something she will growl (I think talk) or bark for a second. Then she goes over to check things out and life is good again!
Cats ▼
TBD
Children ▼
TBD but the few she has met she seems to be very receptive towards them. She is a bit jumpy and not sure if she will jump on kids or not.
Leash ▼
Haley does pretty well on a leash and is getting better every day. She loves to have her nose on the ground and is smelling and observing EVERYTHING! She does bark at people and things she is not quite sure of but recovers quickly when her foster siblings say hi, keep walking or check out the "scary thing"! Haley greets other dogs nicely but at times does growl some because she seems to be a little bit of a talker and she is unsure of some situations. She is a work in progress and will need to continue her leash training but at the moment she is doing really well since I don't think she has had much formal leash training.
Where I'm from ▼
Haley (we pronounce it like Haley Berry) was picked up as a stray in Joplin MO so sadly not much is known about her! She had super long toenails so I believe she was kept inside quite a bit and does not have the best manners yet. However, with a little time and training she is going to make someone a very lucky owner. We believe she is a lab/hound mix. She is not quite done growing yet but won't be big by any means. Haley is a total love bug, learning all about snuggle time and can't wait to find her forever home!
