  • Foster Parent(s) Thanks to Jim and Janie for being great fosters to Blitzen!

Blitzen is very sweet. She loves to play with and fetch a ball. She is extremely well kennel trained which was a surprise to us. We attempted to have her sleep in our room in a dog bed the first night we had her and she was very unsettled. The next night we set up our kennel downstairs and with a treat, she was happy to go into the kennel and she was great….no restlessness, no noise out of her whatsoever. It was amazing.

More info about Blitzen

Other Dogs ▼

She is very indifferent with other dogs we have encountered on walks. There is very little reaction from her when we approach other dogs. She has not been around other dogs for any length of time yet. Our neighbors have a dog and they will meet at the fence and run back and forth along the fence line, but no aggressive behavior has been observed.

Cats ▼

She has not been around cats since she's been with us.

Children ▼

She is great with children. Our Granddaughters have been around her extensively and they love playing with her and she loves playing with them.

Leash ▼

Blitzen is untrained walking on a leash. She does pull, but does stay focused walking forward and does not walk all over the place. We don't have any major problems walking her and our average walk is about 3 miles.

Where I'm from ▼

We are unsure of her story. We know we went to the Pueblo Animal Shelter to pick her up. She does have some allergy issues. She licks and chews her paws and her left ear has what we would refer to as "cauliflower ear" similar to what wrestlers have. It definitely does not affect how she carries on on a daily basis. She is happy, she is playful, she loves to run around our backyard, and she loves people!

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who love dogs and work to find homes for Labs and Lab Mixes in need.
