After losing our wonderful yellow lab, Jasmine, to cancer we found RMLR. After we were approved, we chose to foster to adopt Holly, a 2 year old black lab, and she came home on 10/10/10.
When she came to us, she was house trained and she knew how to sit. She never barked and didn't wag her tail much at all. She bonded to us quickly and we knew we were going to keep her before the first 24 hours were up. It took Zina, our 8 year old black lab mix, a little longer to accept Holly. She wasn't used to having a younger, livelier, and bigger dog to play with. She made the adjustment and now they are now good companions.
Holly is a very loving dog and fits into our family beautifully. She is great with our young grandchildren and has learned to come, stay and walk on a leash. She is still learning lie down. She now barks and wags her tail frequently and acts like a normal, happy dog. We are so glad that she has joined our family. |
