Went Home On: Lucky Dog!
How Sweet It Is!
Friday October 31st, 2008

Selma

She is becoming a big wagger.  She LOVES the treat cupboard.  She anticipates her daily walks and gets excited. She has some buddies that she regularly plays with at the park- she is a total goofball when she plays. She and Buster continue to have stellar wrestling matches- we have to shut them down sometimes or they will go on forever. You won't believe  this but she has started sneaking off to the park when we're out front with her and not looking- she has done it twice!!  It is right around the corner from our house but I find it very funny because we totally did not see this level of independence in her- she usually is glued to us! I guess it's a positive sign. We had hardwoods put in on the entire main floor and I am happy to say she is a pro! She is also walking on the concrete floor at the local petshop now- she freaked out on it at first.  She is doing amazing :)

Hershey

Hershey is a big sweet fella that came to RMLR from Kansas. For reasons out of his control, Hershey had a difficult time finding a forever home once he got to the rescue. But we think this time we've got it right! He's found a great family with a pond and 3 young boys to keep him active! We can't wait to hear and update!

Bentley

Bentley is a handsome purebred Black Lab. He is a giant love bug who has already stolen the heart of his foster mom after only two short days. He loves to follow her around and hang out at her feet. He also gets along well with the other resident dogs at his foster families home. Bentley is only three paws strong due to a recent accident that resulted in the loss of his right rear leg. As a new amputee he is unsure in his navigation of hardwood, tile or linoleum flooring but very much likes to cuddle up on some soft carpet.

Bentley has been adopted by his foster mom! We're so happy for him!

Flash

Flash is a very special dog. He came to RMLR from a shelter in Topeka, KS. He's very sweet and well trained - but has been treated badly in the past by someone. He doesn't get a long well with other dogs or children. Sometime men make him very uncomfortable too. He was very difficult to find a great home for but we think we finally found a keeper!

Flash has been adopted by a woman in Commerce City, CO who realy loves labs. She loves him and we can't wait to hear an update about this guy!

 Boomer

Boomer came to RMLR from a woman who found him on the side of the road. She surrendered him to us after searching high and low for his family. He's a very sweet guy - his foster absolutely fell in love with him.

From the new adopters: He seems to be fitting in very well.  The cat is still hiding in the basement, but this morning, he seemed as if he didn't even notice her. We'll see if we can dig her out and introduce them briefly today, but he honestly doesn't seem like he'll care about her one way or the other unless she has food on her he can lick off.  He's really a great dog!  He mellowed right out with Ashley, our 2 year old and they get along great!

 Robin Hood

Robin Hood came to RMLR from Dallas, TX with his sister. They were both super cute and picturesque. He's been adopted by a fantastic family in Henderson, CO. He's excited to be with a great family in a great place with lots of dogs! From the new family: Hello! We adopted Robin Hood a couple of months ago, and we wanted to share some pictures of him in his new home with his family. We changed his name to Jack the Bear, we just call him Jack...we had too many Robins around. Hope you enjoy these. Thanks!

Update 10/01/09

I haven't been as faithful to send pictures of our Jack dog as I would like. Here are a few. Just wanted to share what he's been up to with our family!

Harper

Harper was a sweet little girl that came to us from Bella Vista, AK. She had a lot of fear issues when she first came. She didn't like many people or other dogs. With a lot of love, care and work from a great foster mom - she opened up and started loving everyone! She's been adopted by a great woman in Parker, CO with another pup friend and a 3 year old son! We can't wait to see pictures of this girl as she really blossoms and grows up!
