Forrest
 |
Hi,
We are already in love with our new dog! Forrest, now named Ferris, has settled in amazingly well. He is the sweetest, lovingest dog. He has excellent manners and is wonderful with the kids. We are all enjoying him very much and can't imagine our house without him, even after only a few days. The kids adore him. He lets the girls drape all over him. Our older son is forming a good bond with him, and our younger son (developmentally delayed) is delighted when Ferris licks his fingers and lets him hug him. Even the cat is getting used to him.
He had a few accidents at first, as we expected, but is getting comfortable with the yard. He is still quirky about the food. We'll try to find something he loves (he seems to prefer the plain bits, not the fancy morsels). And oddly, though it's actually nice, he hasn't barked once -- not at the other dogs, not at the prairie dogs, not at people at the door. He seems quite content with us and wants only to be near us.
Thank you so very much for rescuing this dog. He is a joy and we are so happy to have him.

Sugar Plum

|
Carrie and all the volunteers at Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue,
We want to thank you for accepting us as adoptees of a dog and for expecially "gently" encouraging us to consider adopting Sugar Plum--Kinah. We have had her for almost 4 months and our lives are so blessed because of her. She certainly filled a void in our lives. We work and play, play and play, then work and play some more. She is so full of positive energy. Our kids are a bit resentful as they say Kinah gets better treatment than they did. Oh well! She gets along well with all of our grandkids and granddogs. She goes most places with us including my mother-in-law's (she is not a dog person but thinks Kinah is ok). She travels very well. She has gone on several hikes with us and will be doing more. She also enjoys playing in her big yard.It is fenced and we do supervise her time there. The birds are of special interest. We did have a former student of mine come and stay with her while we were volunteering for Ride the Rockies for 9 days. Kelly was sad to leave as her and Kinah became very good friends. Although her mother did tell us that Kinah was non stop play. Kinah does have her own toy box that my daughter made for her. However, we put the toys in and she takes them our just as fast. I was not sure I could love another dog as much as I had loved the two labs we lost last year. But I can and I do. Kinah has brought so much joy to our lives during times we needed some joy. we are also getting the excercise we really need!
I could say more but I hope this gives you the satisfaction knowing one more of your dogs has found her "forever" home. This dog is so much a wonderful part of our lives. I cannot begin to express our gratitude in allowing us to have Kinah. We are again a happy dog family. (She is even allowed places, such as the couch, that others were not)
Again, thank you for bringing such joy into our lives.
