B-Tane

B is still doing great. We are working on come, sit, down, walking properly on the leash (he is doing great on all) and next will be leave-it, get-it, drop-it, off.  Katie and him are doing great. We love him so much!

I attached a picture for you.

Hope you are doing well!

Thanks!
Erin
Cheers!
 June 2, 2010 Dove

Just to let you know Bella (aka Dove) appears to be adjusting well to her new environment; The car ride home was easy and she stayed in my lap the entire time; We even stopped by our daughter/son-in-laws on the way through Denver for a quick introduction! The first interaction with Bubba (outdoors in our front yard) was quite positive and they engaged in a bit of play. She's explored the entire first floor, played Goldilocks and tried each of the three beds on the main level. I've been taking her outside routinely and each time she's gone potty. We put a water dish and food bowl down for her, but it appears she prefers to drink out of Bubba's bigger one ~ especially when he's drinking, too!

It was too cute ~ as I was preparing lunch for Steve, Bubba knows he is not allowed in the kitchen so he sits patiently on the floor at the edge of the counter. Bella walked by him, turned around and sat right next to him and simply waited as well.

Attached is a photo of her first afternoon at her forever Keefer home!

RMLR is a phenomenal organization and we're honored to welcome two of their very best into our home and hearts. Thanks for the time and love your family gave to Bella during her foster stay ~ know you're welcome anytime in our home!
Kindest regards,

Leann
June 2, 2010 Athena

Hi guys,

Just wanted to give you an update on Bailey (new name for Athena). She has been the completion to our family and are blessed to have her. She's definately got some puppy tendencies left in her, especially when I'm not around. She is pretty good on a leash and is getting better. Her basic commands came very easily as if she had already known them. Alyson, the youngest, has gotten over her small fear of Bailey. I think she just needed a couple days, and now she's going up to her and giving Bailey hugs and kisses.

Thanks,
Ryan and Jamie
June 5, 2010 Trixie

I just wanted to send a email update you on Trixie.  Since I last wrote, Trixie has been all over and we have shared so many new experiences together.  We have been through thunderstoms, road trips, and the 4th of July.  Trixie made it through the 4th like a champ.  She was not a fan of the fireworks, but she didn't lose it either.  She could care less about thunderstorms and as we all knew loves car rides.  My family was in the town for the 4th of July weekend and we all went up to Breckenridge.  We went on a couple of hikes, went swimming in a river, and walked all around the town.  She was a champ at the Art Show going on and got tons of attention from passerbys.  I am surprised she even ate at her regular mealtimes during that weekend, as she was getting treats regularly about every 2 hours.  When we got home from Breck she pretty much slept for a day straight.  We definitely tuckered her out!

Trixie has settled into my life very well.  She warmed up to the dog walker immediately and the dog walker I have to walk her midday is working out well.  I had to go to Canada for a week and had someone from my dog walkers stay with her the entire time, instead of having her go to a kennel.  She didn't seem phased one bit when I got home, it was as if I never left.  I was concerned about me leaving and confusing her, but everything went extremely well!  She has warmed up to me nicely and she no longer follows me around the apartment whenever I get up.  She loves to drink out of the toilet and loves sleeping on the couch.  She sleeps in my bed at night and owns the bed.  We (I) am still trying to figure out a better arrangment, so I don't wake up in the middle of the night hugging the edge of the bed due to Trixie spreading out.  Also, she loves to dance.  When I start dancing she gets excited and starts to howl and play around as I dance.  It is the cutest thing ever!

Overall, I would say Trixie is doing great!  Let's be honest, she owns me.  She is the love of my life and I spoil her regularly.  I have attached a couple of pictures from our recent adventures.  One of her on the 4th of  July in her bandana.  One of her in a hot dog costume my mom got her (she actually loved it!).  And one of her during one of the hikes at Breckenridge!  Thank you so much for letting me bring Trixie into my life, she is definitely the best dog ever!

All the best,
Christine
