How Sweet It Is!

Feb 5, 2010 Bronc

Dear RMLR,

Sorry its taken so long to provide an update, but Finn (aka Bronc) has been very busy with his new family. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM! He is so sweet and so much fun to take on all our adventures. He LOVES the snow so he's played his way through a number of snowshoe trips. Finn is also quite the lover. He thinks he's a 70lb lap dog so we spend LOTS of time snuggling. Finn also loves running and wrestling with his new neighborhood pals. He's great with other dogs and even stops by to say hello to all the owners. We couldn't be happier with our new addition!

We look forward to all the memories ahead and greatly appreciate RMLR for bringing us an incredible dog.

Feb 10, 2010 Cleatus

Hi Carrie

Just wanted to let you know that we are LOVE having Cleatus in our family. He is such a sweet dog. He is our daughter's best friend (I've attached a picture of them playing 'bride' together).

Tori

Just wanted to check in and let you know that Tori/Stella is doing great! She had a very nice evening and has made fast friends with one cat, Walter. The other kitty is still timid, but she walked right by him and paid him no notice. She slept well in her crate and has been on two walks today. We're so pleased with her wonderful temperament and manners!

Feb 13, 2010 Shadow Marie

Lou,
Just a follow up. Thanks for your help registering for lab rescue. We saw a pup that we really were interested in and it turns out we met her and fell in love with her. Though initially hesitant (she clearly had
been mistreated) she has made herself more than “at home.” Her preferences have been for nesting in the middle of the down comforter on our bed, a chair in the living room that has silk throw pillows on it and the good living room sofa. Forget the furniture in the den or family room. She clearly has expensive tastes. Other than those indiscretions she’s been great.
She loves her walks with John usually for five or six miles but still has enough
energy when she returns to do loop-de-loop butt runs through the house. She and the cat will do fine in time. She tries to get the cat to play, bouncing at her with butt in the air but the cat finds her far too frivolous and occasionally lets her know it with a swat or a hiss. She is not deterred.
Just a thank you for your time and energy and processing our application fast enough that we could meet Shadow Marie before someone else snatched her. We’ll give her a good home. Your commitment to these pups is admirable.

Feb 16, 2010 Lexi

We are very happy with Lexi. She is very smart and we are not having much trouble with her, though she can find food on the counters if left alone for long. She must have been traumatized with kennels or crates and does not like to be in one at all. We are slowly working on kennel (crate) training with her. She is just a love and we are so glad to have her with us. My son will be home from Kuwait before Easter so we are really anxious for him to meet her since he picked her out for us from the web site. Thank you again for all your hard work as volunteers. You helped us find the most delightful lab around!!!

Feb 19, 2010 Fiona

Hello RMLR!

Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to adopt Fiona. She is now answering to Lily and loving life! At the moment she's snoring on the couch :)
We've a great two weeks getting to know one another. She has lots of Border Collie in her. She loves to herd!  We're still working on our manners with other dogs however we are a pushover with people. We love rides and muddy walks at the Rez. She's the perfect fit!

Thanks!!
Jenn

Ferris Was adopted by Barb from Nevada!
Feb 22, 2010 Zoe

Zoe’s story with our family started when we were supposed to foster a different lab. We were asked if we’d be willing to foster her instead of the other lab because she can jump, and there were concerns with fence height. Well, I picked her up from the transport, and was immediately taken with her. The same thing happened with my family when I got her home. She seemed to fit right in with our family which includes another yellow lab. Zoe is a very sweet, loving little girl that also has an ornery side with her new brother. They are learning to play together; he likes to take her toys, and she barks at him to get them back. She loves to go for walks, and chase toys through the house. Zoe will start training classes the end of this month. And yes, we have seen her ability to jump. She goes vertical when excited by the front door, and bounces like a rabbit when she runs. We’re very glad that fate stepped in and brought her to us.
 Feb 23, 2010 Nellie

Nellie has settled in great with the family and the Buddy dog! She's a keeper, looking forward to introducing her to camping and fishing this summer. Currently Tim is working on her walking
with a lease, she's smart and learns very quickly. Here's a pic of Buddy and Nellie lounging and living the dogs live of leisure.

Will keep in touch....

THANK YOU!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give you an update on Morgan (we have renamed him). He’s doing great and getting settled well! He did great Sunday night, slept through the night in his new home just fine. The boys and him are doing really good together – he does very well with them and is so gentle with them.  And Christian (the 2 year old) and him a buddies. He is starting to feel comfortable here and learning that we will take great care of him.  He loves going to the park and playing fetch with us – he gets quite worn out and then enjoys his naps! We do need some behavioral training – some leash walking, learning some basic commands, but he is already starting to learn some just with me. So we are all adjusting well. I have attached some pictures of Morgan with the boys!

I want to thank Carrie and Jessica for their help and support – you two made such a difference for us and I really appreciate your time and patience with me!  Thank you!!!

I will send more updates soon,
Michelle
Feb 27, 2010 Holly

We have renamed her Sadie. My wife and I love her. She's already destroyed all of the toys we had, so we went shopping today for more durable toys, Kongs and such. She's doing great with the cats- she can walk right by them and it doesn't even bother them!
