Daisy

Daisy was a 4 month old black lab mix girl from North Platte, Nebraska. She's been adopted by a nice family in Littleton, CO.

FROM THE NEW FAMILY: I hope all of you at RMLR are doing great.  I have an update and finally some pictures of our little Daisy.

We brought Daisy home on the evening of August 26th and immediately fell for her.  She was quickly potty trained and learned several tricks. She loves the dog park here in Littleton and makes quick friends, especially great danes.  She has several neighborhood friends and gets together with them often for a rough and tumble play session. We frequently walk her around the neighborhood and take her for rides in the car.  She loves all the love and affection she gets here at home, even brushing her teeth is an enjoyable experience for her. We are looking forward to a great summer of camping and swimming in the mountain lakes of Colorado.  She immediately became a part of this family. Thank you so much for the work that you do rescuing these wonderful Labs and Lab mixes.

    Sincerely,
          The Barnes Family

Raleigh

Raleigh was a special guy. He was found by an animal control officer being neglected and abused at a home. He had also been hit by a car and was malnutritioned. Despite all the rough things he had encountered in his life he was such a happy friendly guy. He was just on a search to find someone who would treat him well. He's been adopted by a great guy in Denver and we can't wait to hear/see more of an update about how Raleigh loves his new life!

Nim

Nim was a 5 month old black lab mix girl from North Platte, Nebraska. She's been renamed Shasta by a great family in Firestone, CO. FROM THE NEW FAMILY: Shasta has melted our hearts! She's a very loveable, energetic 5-month old puppy, who loves to play catch, run around the backyard, and play tug of war. She always wants to be where our family is, and follows us around the house. When we've been gone and come home, she's so happy to see us she can't contain herself. She barks, wags her tail and jumps around as if to say, "I missed you so much!" Our 7-year-old daughter has taken an active role in her training, and Shasta has taken quite a liking to having a permanent playmate. They rough-house is the backyard and can play for quite some time before tiring out. We all go on walks together, which makes Shasta a very happy dog. She's walks along with her tail wagging, and just can't get enough of the outside. At night, she likes to cuddle up with one of us while we watch TV, and she has a special pillow and blanket that she loves. Once she parks herself on that pillow, she doesn't go off of it until it's time to go to bed. At bedtime, she very willingly goes into her crate (which has another big fluffly pillow in it), and curls up, puts her head down, and patiently waits until morning to see us again. It's fun to see her excitement when we come downstairs in the morning, as she's full of energy and ready for a new day. We are very thankful that she picked us as her forever family. We love you, Shasta girl!

 Bliss

Drama, Drama, Drama!  She was the instagater in the group.  She was very funny but really likes mischief.  Mischief making seems to be her forte in life.  She is the picture of a puppy,  Energetic, Happy, Loves anything that comes into her world, investigates all with no stone UN turned and is the loudest of the group.  Bliss has been renamed Kona.

FROM THE NEW FAMILY: We just wanted to tell you what a wonderful organization this is and to thank you for doing your part in helping find great homes for these dogs.  I only wish we could adopt them all! Here are some pics just to update.  She is a wonderful addition to our family and our other dog Tia just loves her!

Bart

What a guy, he appeared to be the leader of the posse of puppies that came in together. Bart is doing well in his new home.  FROM THE NEW FAMILY: Just wanted to send a photo of Bart.  He is doing well and like to take walks.  I usually put on his backpack in case he wants a treat.  He listens very well but still likes to chew a lot.  He is very funny and loves to make us laugh.  His favorite person is Max our yellow lab.  After coming out of his kennel every morning he waits patiently until we let Max out.  He then is so excited to see Max that he licks his muzzle.  I love his curly tail and quirky sense of humor!

Clara

Clara was a 4 month old black lab mix that came to RMLR from the Buckfund in Kansas. She was very sweet and very well behaved for such a young girl.

FROM THE NEW FAMILY: Just wanted to shoot a note (and some pics) to you all to let you know how happy I am to have connected with Betty (aka Clara) through RMLR! From the moment she arrived at 4 months, she has been the sweetest dog, eager to learn (especially when it gets her treats and hotdogs), and incredibly active. She loves running with the big dogs in the yard or the park, holding her own in wrestling matches, and then coming home to curl up on the couch with me or my boyfriend Jack. She's the most enthusiastic people dog I have ever seen, making sure she says hi to every human before running off to romp with the dogs. She's been the perfect hiking companion (though she still can't help but to try to run up to new things on the trail, or prove herself the faster dog out of all her playmates in a leashed race up the mountain). We are an absolute perfect match. THANK YOU

Porter

Porter is a sweet yellow boy who was being fostered by friends of a family that was going to be out of the country for a little while. That little amount of time ended up being indefinite so he was surrendered to RMLR. He is super sweet, very smart and has lots of energy for being 3 years old. He is very kind and gets a long with everyone. Porter has been adopted by the Ritz Carlton in the mountains. How exciting! He gets training, daily walks, hikes and snow shoes. Plus he gets to be the resident dog of the hotel and just hang out with visitors all day! What a lucky dog!

Roxy

You're not dreaming - Roxie is a hound. Not one part lab here... pure hound! Roxie was found on the side of the highway in Utah by a dedicated RMLR volunteer that was on her way to California. Roxie was trying to cross the road and was almost hit by traffic. Our volunteer stopped to help her out and she jumped right into the car. She took her to the local shelter but unfortunately they were unable to find her owner and were going to put her to sleep. We just couldn't let that happen.

Upon arrival to RMLR she went to the vet for a welness check up and we found out Miss Roxie was pregnant with puppies. She has had 5 puppies that she is currently nursing. She has also been adopted by an awesome family in Fort Lupton, CO and will be going home with them as soon as her puppies are old enough to be away from her!

Peanut

Peanut came to RMLR as an owner surrender from Louisiana. He was a gorgeous 3 year old yellow lab mix. He's been adopted by wonderful woman in Snowmass Village, CO. We can't wait to see an update about this guy at his new home in the mountains!

UPDATE FROM THE NEW FAMILY: Peanut is doing well.  He quickly bonded with me.  We are working on socializing him more.  For the most part he is very sweet and is friendly once he gets used to people.  Oh, he did bark at a poster of Miles Davis at the radio station.  He scared me because I'm the last one there and was getting ready to close up the station when he started barking.  I thought someone must have slipped into the studio before I realized it was just the poster he was barking at!  So, I guess Peanut doesn't like jazz!
