Went Home On: Lucky Dog!
How Sweet It Is!

Miles

FROM THE NEW FAMILY: Miles has a new home.  The family's name is, Foster Failure.  This family for some strange reason has fallen for those beautiful brown eyes and they really are impressed with how smart he is.  They have even been able to overlook the fact that he has marked several times in their dining room on an antique ladder and the fact that he has torn his dog bed into tiny little shreds.  He seems to have fallen for the family as well and wishes they would all stay put in one place so he can be with them all at one time.  It is very hard work to keep track of everyone.  He even gives his support when Mrs. Failure is cleaning toilets in the bathroom.   Mr. Failure gives his full support of this adoption and both of the Failure sons love having a young pup to play with.  This family would like to continue to foster as they feel that this is a very wonderful organization, but they need a little time to get the training well underway. Of course they do not want any dogs that are as good as Miles.  Please only send the really bad and ugly ones. (Are there any of those out there?)

Trance

FROM TRANCE (now Barkley)

Dear Greg, Norma and Rocket.

Trance here!  Gosh, I miss you guys!  But I am getting along quite well!

I got my new name Barkley, because even though I have no vocal chords left, I still can bark!  And quite loud!  I rock.

I am eating eggs with my dog food to get my fur back in shape to impress the ladies…   Which is good since my baby brother Jager, the black lab of 8 months, is almost well enough from a recent boo boo to go back to the doggie park, which I hear we do Saturday and/or Sunday…yeah!   I am looking forward to that because there will be lots of dogs to interact with and I can begin to get my social mobility back.   I was quite suave as a puppy and I'll be tapping back into that side of myself again!  Think the Frank Sinatra of dogs, yep, that's me.
My baby brother Jager, follows me around non-stop, I pretend to be slightly annoyed, but truth I adore him right back!  I am the Alpha dog and I show him how to behave; when he gets out of line, I remind him who is the boss.   He shows his appreciation by lovingly chewing on my ears.  It kinda feels good, so I let him.   I sleep next to my Mom, Renee and Dad, Ben every night and am chasing flies in my dreams because my tail is a wagging.   I wake mom and dad up every morning by standing next to them while in bed and just STARE and wag my tail, if this takes too long, a cold nose on the cheek is sure to do it.
During the days, Jager and I get into endless trouble; we hang out in the yard and pee on things, chase house flies, bark at people walking by, and get loved on my mommy when she is working from home.  We make sure that if she has been typing on her laptop for too long, we lovingly headbutt her to remind her is has been 5 minutes and it is time to pet us again.  It is also very important for me to make a HUGE deal when daddy gets home, because I missed him SOOOO much!

RMLR, Greg, Norma and Rocket- I couldn’t have gotten to my new home without you, and I can never show you how thankful I am that you saved my life and kept me safe until I got home to the Maxwells, but I really appreciate it!  I'll send some pictures really soon!

I miss you all, but hopefully will see you at the RMLR walk/Run soon!

Love,

Barkley

Maya

Maya came to RMLR from a shelter in Dodge City, KS.  She's been adopted!

FROM THE NEW FAMILY:

I just wanted to write and thank you for your help in adopting Maya!  She's so sweet and adorable, and she's settling in great here.  Sleeping like a little angel, and she peed/pooped outside twice already!  We're both kind of amazed, but so thrilled!

Payton

 FROM THE NEW FAMILY:

I just wanted to email a few pictures of Sugar (Payton) for you guys to see.   Hard to believe we have had her a month now!!!   It has gone by very quickly, and the kids can't remember life before she was here!!!   She plays very hard with them in the back yard in the mornings and evenings, and naps with the 3 yr old every afternoon for 3 hours!!!  She has been wonderful and we are working hard to train her so we can all enjoy her even more.  She has picked up quite a few comands and is walking on a leach without tugging.  She has been just wonderful!!  Thanks to you both for all you did to help us adopt her!!  Enjoy the pictures and know she gets loved on for hours and hours and hours every day!!!

Thanks for everything!!!

Molly

Molly was rescued from Hiawatha where she was brought in as a stray. She's been adopted and renamed Jessie!

FROM THE NEW FAMILY:

Dear volunteers. Just an update on Jessie( Molly). She is settling in nicely, and having a great time with her canine brother Nash. They wrestle in the back yard, and then snuggle by the fireplace.
She is learning down and stay, and doing good on walks. She is not exactly timid anymore , but is pretty mellow. She does not jump on counters, but if Nash grabs something she is happy to join in the fun! Thanks to LIz and Jason for being great fosters. Jim, Nancy, T.J. and Josh Thurman

Mona

FROM THE NEW FAMILY: Just wanted to say that Mona is the best dog ever and she is doing very well, despite the surgery and recovery on her right leg.  Mona had a torn ACL on her right leg.  We picked up Mona about 10 days after surgery and have been working on her recovery which is about a 12 week period.  So far, she is on track as far as where the vet would like her to be.  She has started her physical therapy which includes some exercises and then walking.  As of today we are increasing walking time to 15 minutes 1-3 times per day...and let me tell you.....she knows what time her walks are and is very impatient if we are not ready when she is!  She is great on a leash, has come to lover her kennel (which she has to be in as part of her recovery).  Mona will stop on her walks and let anyone and everyone pet her and if they pet her for too long she lays down on the sidewalk!  She loves her new pink teddy bear which she sleeps with in her kennel and she actually does "hug" it sometimes.  Her trademark "snorts" or "moans" are funny and make us laugh.  Thank you to RMLR for paying for her operation and the one that is yet to come on the other leg.  She is a wonderful addition to our family.

Tex

 Hi wonderful volunteers.

We adopted Tex in April and I am sorry I have not sent you any pictures yet. He loves going on car rides with us and prefers the front seat.

I will send more as I find them in my digital stash.

Thanks
