Buck (formerly Captain)
Rescued & Adopted on September 16, 2011

Update Received October 3, 2011
Just wanted to update you on "Buck". He is doing very well and is getting big before our eyes. We adjust his collar weekly. He loves to meet and greet other friendly dogs and all people. He does great in his crate both at night and as needed during the day. He is getting much better at walks. He has some fears to overcome but is making good progress. He doesn't like barking dogs, so we have to be very patient about getting him comfortable on walks. He is very sweet tempered. He knows, here, sit, and down but fetching is not his thing, yet.
Thanks,
Miriam Burch

Tully (formerly Tulsa)
Rescued September 26, 2011- Adopted October 2, 2011

Update Received October 7, 2011
Hi Sarah!
Just wanted to thank you again for all your help and kindness. Tulsa and I had a great first day. He definitely felt a little put out about not sleeping in your bed last night. He really is a sweetheart! He has been mellow about the cats (who are still a bit put out) and he is having fun exploring his new digs. He is going to be a great addition to our family.
Thanks again!
Heidi

Gunther

My Husband and I adopted Gunther on 9/11/2011. He is doing great!
Thanks you for your help,

Max (formerly Mac)
Rescued October 4, 2011 - Adopted October 18, 2011

Update received on October 19, 2011
So far Max is enjoying being with us! He played like crazy with Hoover last night when we got him home. This morning I discovered he knows how to be gentle with a spoon - I always give Hoover the last bite of Ava's oatmeal - and Max was very happy to get a bit of oatmeal too.
I just wanted to say thank-you for everyone who helped us bring Max into our family-pack!

Zane
Rescued and Adopted September 30, 2011

Update received on October 18, 2011
Thought you all might want to see a couple of pictures of "Zane". I think we renamed him Rutger (though we have one child not in agreement).
He is an awesome dog. Love him like crazy.
Thanks again for everything!

Lydia
Rescued August 10, 2011 - Adopted August 31, 2011

Update received on October 17, 2011
I wanted to take a few moments to send you an email about Lydia, who me and my husband adopted on 31 Aug 2011.
We love her so much! She was the first and last dog we met from the rescue. The night we took Lydia home, we knew she was ours to stay (we kept her name because it suited her).
She is so smart and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, heel, give her paw, and the most fun high-five! We are still working on roll over :). She even knows the "go potty" command. She also waits by the door when she has to go out. She sleeps in our bed and cuddles on the couch with us. She loves also laying in her own bed and playing with all her toys. Everything seems to be a new experience with her so it is fun doing new things. One thing I noticed when we adopted her was that she was afraid of water. We are working on that but she has already been swimming and likes to splash around in creeks, so I think her fear is going away.
Lydia comes along everywhere with us. We have successfully taken her camping twice and she is a constant hiking and bouldering companion. She is a regular at the Evergreen dog park and love to socialize with people and dogs. Lydia adapted to us very quickly and she knows we are her mom and dad. She is definitely a daddy's girl!
In the future, if we are looking for a companion for Lydia we will definitely check with your rescue. For now, we are having fun giving her all of our attention.
Thanks!

Lulu (formerly Charlotte)
Rescued March 9, 2011 - Adopted April 9, 2011

Update received on October 18, 2011
Hey Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue,
I'm a year old (I think) and I wanted to give you an update that I'm doing great and loving life in Telluride. I want to thank you for all you did for me - rescuing me from Kansas when I was abandoned and finding me a forever home. I've been growing - I'm up to 60 healthy pounds of muscle. It helps going on a couple walks each day, regular hikes and playing with so many friends I've made in Telluride. Here are some recent fall photos - aren't I pretty?
Thank you again and my mom and dad say hi too - we are so grateful for your organization and always recommend RMLR to friends. Please tell Angelica I said hello - she was an awesome foster mom.
Love,
Lulu (formerly Charlotte)
Hudson (formerly Tully)
Rescued February 19, 2011 - Adopted October 4, 2011

Update received on October 13, 2011
I am writing on behalf of Tully, who's new name is Hudson. I have had him over a week now and neither of us could be happier. He has settled in so much that it's like he's been here all along! He absulutely LOVES stuffed animal toys and squeaky toys and carries them everywhere. His favorite include a stuffed bear and stuffed lion. He has 3 new siblings, Bubba (11 year old Golden), Digby (2 year old Shih Tzu mix) and Bella (5 year old domestic long hair). All three dogs are starting to play toether; the cat is making more and more appearances in the presence of Hudson, although he is not yet her favorite. Hudson has been loose in the house and done fantastically. I have yet to find a naughty bone in his body! We have already traveled to dog parks, friends' houses and open spaces to romp and play. His listening skills are about 95%, which I find amazing. He is a little wary of men, but we are taking slow and careful steps to make him comfortable with everyone. Both he and I will be starting basic obedience training at the end of this month, mostly for something new and exciting to do, as well as weekly visits to doggie daycare. Thank you for letting me adopt this amazing, sweet boy!
Again, I want to thank everyone at Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue for all that you do. It must be a difficult, yet rewarding job to take dogs out of terrible conditions and place them in better ones. I know Hudson did not have the greatest life before now, but rest assured all of his woes are behind him. I could not have asked for a better dog, especially one with a past. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!
