How Sweet It Is!

Jack, my three year old, has renamed him Tulo after his favorite Rockies player Tulowitzki, has impressed us to no end. I can't believe what a total sweet heart he is and he is really very easy so far. He fits in so well with our family and he is always worried about his kids and where we all are, at my heels all day long. He actually slept next to the baby's crib last night for a few hours. And tonight he just passed the biggest test ever with super flying colors with all my friends and their kids. I couldn't bear to leave him for a get together we were having at a friends house since he seems so upset to be left at home without us. (he does not like to be left at all!)...it was too soon to leave him that long so he came to the party! 13 kids and 6 of them under 2! He was remarkable-

All three of my friends wanted to take him home- he never even knocked one of them over, just gave them sweet kisses and laid at their feet. He has no skills for walking on a leash, he's terrible at it, or sitting or table manners but he takes treats better than any dog I know, has no food aggression at all, loves other dogs and he seems to have a heart of gold. We decided together as a family that it was meant to be...he is our new dog!

The entire experience has been remarkable- when we move to a bigger place we will definitely be foster parents again and adopt through you when we want a second labbie. Thank you! Thank you! we feel so lucky.

August 6, 2010 Birkie

Hello
My husband and I adopted Birkie in August and wanted to give you an update of how he was doing.
From the beginning Birkie was always needing attention and to this day loves attention and getting belly rubs. Birkie has settled in very well, he and our other dog Kota are best of friends and are constantly rough housing. Whenever they are at the dog park we have to let other people know that their playing is normal they are not hurting each other they just love each other and love to play. Birkie is willing to try anything, he loves to hike around Horsetooth, loves the dog park and especially loves car rides. He has helped our other dog to calm down when meeting new people, but also be brave in new situations. Birkie is the best addition we could have asked for to our family.

Here are some updates pictures of Birkie, he has definitely gained a little weight, but we believe that he looks incredible healthy.

Thank You for giving us Birkie, we love him.

August 9, 2010 Skinny Cow

Kiku’s (Skinny Cow) doing great. She’s quite smart (and quite stubborn, LOL!). We think her daddy had some hound, based upon her face, body structure, and she’s even gone into a ‘point’ position a few times!  We love her to death, and the cats are ok with her…not best buddies yet, but Sumi will let Kiku lick her face!

If you get any other photos of Blossom’s puppies, I’d love to see them, too. Feel free to share Kiku’s photos.

Thanks so much for raising her…she’s adorable and has done a terrific job of filling the void left with Autumn’s passing.

August 17, 2010 Tator

Hi guys,

Tator (now Salem) is doing really well! She only had one accident on her first night here, but we know her signals now and she knows where the doors are. She and Yuna are really enjoying each other because Salem likes to chase and Yuna likes to be chased! She really enjoys the pool :) She likes to run, jump in the pool, jump out and run around really fast. She hasn't yet seemed to figure out she can run the whole acre yard, she tends to stay in one area. Parker has had the hardest time adjusting (She likes to be the boss of everything) but at night she cuddles with Salem on the bed because she thinks no one notices, haha! She's a sweetheart and we're just taking things slow and letting her learn how things are here. She's so smart but a bit of a hardhead lol. We love her very much and can't wait for when she feels fully comfortable and knows she's at her forever home.

Thanks!
Amanda
