Lucky Puppy Month
Happy March everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your February 29th. Remember, we don’t get another one of those for 4 more years. We at RMLR have had a very challenging February with rescue dogs needing surgeries and a few of our great volunteers locating to different areas of the country. It was also very busy. We found great new loving homes for 13 dogs. We had a great turn out at both of our events. Thank you to Colorado Canines in Boulder, and Laund-Ur-Mutt in Littleton for allowing us to visit and hold an event.
We also FINALLY finished all that pesky paperwork and filed our 501(c)3 and we’re just waiting to hear back. We appreciate any help you give RMLR. Any donations are retroactive by 14 months and donations can be tax deductible. Thank you for your assistance!
March is gearing up to be just as successful. We would love for everyone to join us by getting involved. As always, we need more foster homes (especially with two of ours leaving us this month). If you are interested, or have friends interested, please fill out an application found on our website at Foster Homes Needed. We have an event at the PetCo in NorthGlenn this month and we’d love to have everyone stop by, say hi to our new foster dogs and support the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue.
Pup of the Month
Our pup of the month is Evans. Evans is a great dog. He’s a black lab mix, rescued from a very rural part of Missouri 2 days before he was going to be put to sleep. This fella is 1 year old, neutered, house-trained and about 65lbs. He's not the best with cats, but he's very well trained (sit, shake, laydown). He loves attention and sleeps all the way through the night. He'll make a great addition to a family where they only want one dog. For more information on this great guy visit our website and see Adoptable Labs.
March Events
We have a short list of events this month – as we’re saving up for a big BIG event this spring, hopefully. It’s in the early planning stages, but it’s going to be amazing. There will be more on that at a later date.
Sunday March 23, 2008 from 12 noon – 3 pm at the PetCo in NorthGlenn
Fundraising
Thanks for everyone who bought a fleece. We raised some money for the rescue and the fleeces turned out beautifully. If you are interested in Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue Apparel we are still selling the fleeces. Visit our Support Us section of the website to order yours today!
We do still have things on sale at café press. There are tshirts, hoodies, doggie tshirts, bumper stickers and even mouse pads. Check out http://www.cafepress.com/rockymtnlab to purchase your gear!
Stephanie Hoover contacted us and offered to give us $5 (15%) of every personalized pet mat that she sells through us. They’re very cute and a great opportunity for us to raise some money. If you’re interested please visit our website under Support Us and follow the links to the ordering form.
Big Wet Thank Yous
We’ve had a lot of help lately with things and just wanted to send out some much deserved thanks! First thank you to MaxFund for helping out Atticus. He needed a shoulder surgery for some cartilage damage. They sponsored him and paid for his entire surgery. This helps prepare Atticus to meet a nice loving family to adopt him.
Andy, our sweet loveable yellow lab mix is in dire need of a live-saving surgery. Earlier this month he was diagnosed with a condition called Congenital Liver Malformation. Without this surgery he will die. So far we’ve raised $550 of the $3500 needed for his surgery. Thank you to everyone who has already helped out. Anyone who would like to support Andy please visit our Donate section of our website. Every little bit helps and Andy deserves it!
As always thank you to our volunteers, donators and foster homes. You are the reason we stay afloat!
And now for a sad goodbye and thank you to 2 of our great volunteers and foster homes – Meg and Tanya. Meg has left us for North Carolina, and Tanya has moved on to Florida. Safe travels, best of luck in your new cities and thank you for all the time, money and energy you dedicated to the dogs! You two will be missed!
