Happy April Drools Day!!

March was madness to say the least! We adopted out 19 dogs in March (19!!!!), we had a very successful adoption event at PetCo in Northglenn, and we aquired 4 additional foster homes! Hope the month treated you equally as well. Andy, our loveable yellow lab, went in for his surgery and it was a success. The surgeon was able to get the hydrolic occluder around the vessel and now they will have to fill it every 2 weeks until it completely shuts off the vessel. Then the blood will be redirected into the liver through the correct vessel where it can detoxify like it's suppose to. Everyone keep your paws crossed, but so far everything is looking well for Andy! We have managed to raise enough money to pay for Atticus' shoulder surgery as well. Two great dogs got the surgeries that they deserved. Thank you everyone for your continued donations, time and support!

Dog of the Month - Ranger

Everyone this is Ranger! He's about 2 years old, walks very well on the leash, is very happy and loves attention. He's a bit on the smaller side - a Black Lab/Hound Mix we think. He's a very calm dog, he likes to raise up and put his paws on you when he sees you for the first time. He'll even dance with you if you let him. He's a great dog to have curl up with his head on your lap on a couch or take out for a run. If you'd like to learn more about adopting Ranger please click www.rockymountainlabrescue.com to check him out under Adoptable Labs.

Events

Our event calendar is really exciting this month! We are set for Saturday, April 26th at Colorado Canines in Boulder. We will do a doggie wash all day from 10AM-6PM and they will donate 50% of all the profits to us! If people would like to volunteer to help out that would be great! It will be a ton of fun - if you don't mind smelling like happy clean pups at the end of the day!

Then I'm very excited to announce our very first annual Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue 5k Doggie Dash on Sunday May 18th in Louisville, CO. This fun family (and dog) event can be as competitive or as leisurely as you desire. There will be three waves starting based on order of registration. The race/walk will be on the Coal Creek Trail, sure fun for your dog! After the 5K, stick around for various vendors such as pet sitters, doggie massages, healthy treats, a doggie bath, educational expos for kids and dogs, and all the current doggies available for adoption from the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue! Registration is only required for the 5K, if you're not interested in the run/walk join us for the fair! The race starts at 8:30AM and the fair starts at 9AM. Click www.active.com/event_detail.cfm for more information and to register! Anyone who has adopted from us, we'd also love this event to be a sort of reunion to see how all the success stories are doing! We'll finally have our welcome packets organized and together to distribute to all our adoptive parents - so come on out!

Also, we have a garage sale going on this upcoming Sunday April 6th from 7:30AM - 1PM at 4780 West 125th Ave. Broomfield, CO. All proceeds benefit the rescue directly. If you have anything you'd like to donate for sale, please drop things off as early as possible in the morning. Or email us at rockymountainlabrescue@gmail.com and we can arrange a pick up/drop off of goods. Thanks!

Volunteering

As always we need volunteers. With 19 adoptions this past month, that meant that we did ATLEAST 19 phone interviews and ATLEAST 19 home visits. That keeps our small group of volunteers very busy. If you'd like to help out, we'd love to have you. Please email us at rockymountainlabrescue@gmail.com and tell us what you would like to help out with. We need transport assistance, foster homes, and people able to help with home visits and phone interviews. We don't bite - we promise!

Everyone have a great April - thanks for your continued support, love, dedication, donations and interest!
